Saint Catherine of Siena Convent originally opened its doors in 1962 as a home for infirm and retired sisters of the Saint Dominic order. The establishment was a fulfillment of Mother Aquinas' vision, skillfully executed by her successor, Mother Dolorita. Over the years, the facility grew to accommodate up to eighty-eight residents. However, as the number of sisters diminished, the decision was made to expand the facility's services and apply for a license as a skilled nursing facility in order to provide compassionate care to a wider community. After undergoing extensive renovations, Saint Catherine's Healthcare Center became licensed as a 30-bed skilled nursing facility in 2001. In keeping with the Dominican tradition of hospitality and outreach, the facility now extends its care to members of other religious communities, clergy, and family members of the Caldwell Dominican sisters. The mission of Saint Catherine of Siena is to provide quality skilled nursing care in a compassionate and nurturing environment, ensuring the well-being and comfort of all residents.
